Two hunters are out in the woods when one of them collapses. He doesn't seem to be breathing and his eyes are glazed.
The other guy whips out his phone and calls the emergency services. He gasps, 'My friend is dead! What can I do?
The operator says, 'Calm down. I can help. First, let's make sure he's dead'.
There is silence, then a shot.
Back on the phone the guy says, 'OK. Now what?'

Thanks to Professor Richard Wiseman for his years of work to find a winner. He says the top joke is similar to a script from 'The Goon Show' and Spike Milligan's daughter thinks her dad probably wrote the original.

Why are we telling you about, 'The Worlds Funniest Joke'?

Because it's useful to know that, even though it's the top-rated joke in a world-wide survey, it attracted only a little more than half the votes. Telling jokes in presentations is risky. Instead, tell your audience an amusing story with a point. If the humour bombs, the point should save you.
